homemade biscuit mix recipe

Published by memorialgarden at 11:09 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Biscuit mixes should basic staple in all homes. I always make my own mix. I do this because we are trying to make our diet aluminum free. Most biscuit mix and cakes contain aluminum as the leavening agent. Aluminum is suspect in diminishing brain function. This mix is easy to make and has a long shelf life, it has lower calories and lower fat content as well.

12 cups of flour

2 cups of dry buttermilk

3 tsp salt

½ cup baking powder

1 cup of reduced fat margarine

Put the ingredients in a standing mixer and combine well

Store in refrigerator for 4 weeks.

Makes 16 cups of biscuit mix
