bread and butter pudding

Published by memorialgarden at 11:07 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Today the older girls went out for a sleepover.  The youngest was left here and she was very sad and alone.  So we decided to treat ourselves and make a special dessert.   I had a slightly stale loaf of bread and decided to make a bread pudding.  I have always loved bread pudding for the sweet yet not to sweet taste.

  • 3 slices of wheat bread
  • 1.5 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1.5 cups of sugar
  • vanilla 1 tsp
  1. preheat oven to 375 F
  2. butter one side of the bread and cut bread in half
  3. heat milk
  4. mix eggs sugar and vanilla till well mixed
  5. pour warm milk into egg mixture
  6. pour egg mixture into baking pan
  7. float bread on top with buttered side up
  8. bake for 30 minutes and test it (knife should come out clean)

This was a great and easy dessert.  My daughter who is 4 got to break eggs for the first time.
