bread and butter pudding
Today the older girls went out for a sleepover. The youngest was left here and she was very sad and alone. So we decided to treat ourselves and make a special dessert. I had a slightly stale loaf of bread and decided to make a bread pudding. I have always loved bread pudding for the sweet yet not to sweet taste.
- 3 slices of wheat bread
- 1.5 tablespoon butter
- 2 cups of milk
- 4 eggs
- 1.5 cups of sugar
- vanilla 1 tsp
- preheat oven to 375 F
- butter one side of the bread and cut bread in half
- heat milk
- mix eggs sugar and vanilla till well mixed
- pour warm milk into egg mixture
- pour egg mixture into baking pan
- float bread on top with buttered side up
- bake for 30 minutes and test it (knife should come out clean)
This was a great and easy dessert. My daughter who is 4 got to break eggs for the first time.
