Tasty Sausage Pockets

These pockets are great, you can double the recipe and freeze the extras for a bsuy school day breakfast treat.  The kids love to make them, keeps them busy.  They especially love cutting out the dough, reminds them of making cookies!

  • 5 cups of flour
  • 5 tsp of baking powder
  • 2tsps salt
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 1/3 milk
  • 1 cup grated cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbls water
  • 16 sausage links
  1. Oven to 400
  2. rub the butter into the flour
  3. pour milk into butter flour mixture and stir till flour is moistened
  4. gently knead the dough on a flour dusted counter top.
  5. Cut 4 inch circles using cookie cutter
  6. Break egg in bowl and add water
  7. place sausage link in circle, sprinkle cheese over sausage, fold over
  8. seal edges with egg wash
  9. bake on cookie sheet
  10. brush pockets with egg wash before baking
  11. bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown

Let cool before eating!
