Tasty Sausage Pockets
These pockets are great, you can double the recipe and freeze the extras for a bsuy school day breakfast treat. The kids love to make them, keeps them busy. They especially love cutting out the dough, reminds them of making cookies!
- 5 cups of flour
- 5 tsp of baking powder
- 2tsps salt
- 2 sticks butter
- 1 1/3 milk
- 1 cup grated cheese
- 2 eggs
- 2 tbls water
- 16 sausage links
- Oven to 400
- rub the butter into the flour
- pour milk into butter flour mixture and stir till flour is moistened
- gently knead the dough on a flour dusted counter top.
- Cut 4 inch circles using cookie cutter
- Break egg in bowl and add water
- place sausage link in circle, sprinkle cheese over sausage, fold over
- seal edges with egg wash
- bake on cookie sheet
- brush pockets with egg wash before baking
- bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown
Let cool before eating!
